When was AI Professor™ launched?

AI Professor™ was incubated inside Oning Media Solutions Private Limited as a research project to answer one question: can every Indian student have access to a teacher of the same quality, at any hour, in any language?

Timeline

• 2023 — Oning begins R&D on syllabus-aligned tutoring models.
• 2024 — First closed pilots with select schools and coaching institutes.
• 2025 — The AI Professor trademark is filed and the OningEdu platform is opened to universities.
• 2026 — Public launch of AI Professor™ — including a free student tier at aiprofessor.io.

Why now

Frontier models finally crossed the bar where they could teach — not just answer. Combined with India-first language models like Sarvam and the National Education Policy 2020's push for personalised learning, the conditions were right to bring AI Professor™ to every institution.
